Conveniently located, Bonham is just 25 minutes from McKinney, with easy access to nearby hubs like Sherman and Paris, Texas — both only about 20 minutes away. It’s a perfectly positioned community with quick connections to key North Texas cities.
Economic Opportunity in Growth
As Fannin County’s seat, Bonham has both historical significance and a growing role in regional development. Bois d’Arc Lake is the newest major reservoir in Texas in over 30 years. The lake is an ideal spot for fishing, boating, waterfowl hunting, picnicking and other outdoor activities. The lake is nearly 26 square miles with a depth that ranges from 20 to 70 feet.
Bonham is experiencing steady development, with new infrastructure and projects making their way into the area. Bonham, Texas sees a steady flow of traffic each day, especially along its main roads. In 2021, U.S. Highway 82 averaged between 7,500 and 8,500 vehicles daily, while around 6,000 cars traveled along State Highway 78. By 2023, traffic picked up even more on State Highway 121, which saw nearly 15,000 vehicles passing through each day.
